change can't wait

Our housing and healthcare costs are rising, our public schools are under attack, affordable childcare is nearly impossible to find, Iowans are leaving the state in droves to seek opportunity elsewhere, and bills just keep going up.

Change can't wait. I'm ready to be your voice in the Iowa House and fight for real results for our communities.

Issues

Housing

Safe and Affordable Housing is Less Expensive than Responding to Crises

Rising housing costs and aging, empty homes are destabilizing our communities. I support policies that expand access to affordable housing, ease the property tax burden of homeowners, protect tenants from predatory leasing practices, and keep people safely housed so families can stay rooted in the communities they love.

Our Economy

We Deserve an Economy that Works for All of Us

The GOP's policies have failed Iowa's economy. Wages haven’t kept up with rising costs, forcing many Iowans to leave the state for better opportunities. I support overhauling our burdensome tax system and making sure tax incentives actually delivers real wage growth for Iowa workers and not just a tax cut for big companies that working people never see.

Education

Public Schools Strengthen Communities

Public schools serve the majority of families in this district and deserve stable funding and real accountability. Public dollars should be invested where they deliver real results for students, teachers, and neighborhoods, not siphoned to unaccountable private schools.

Children & Families

Investing in Families Strengthens Our Communities

Too many Iowa families are forced to choose between work and caring for the people they love. The State has a responsibility to help. I will work to expand quality, affordable childcare options, and permanently codify paid family and medical leave so no one has to sacrifice stability to provide care for aging or ill loved ones.

I believe in community. I’ve spent my career in nonprofits supporting kids’ education, immigrants, families, and the institutions that hold our communities together, sustaining programs for organizations responsible for multimillion-dollar budgets and long-term community assets (Science Center of Iowa, Proteus, Inc., Des Moines Symphony), and I’ve seen firsthand how decisions about resources shape real lives.

That experience taught me that public dollars demand discipline, transparency, and results, and that state policy can directly either ease pressure or make life harder for families.
