Clean Water and Strong Farms Go Hand in Hand
Iowa’s land and water are at the heart of who we are. Our farms feed the country, our rivers and lakes shape our communities, and clean water is essential to our public health.
But today, too many Iowans are paying the price for policies that fail to protect our water or support farmers who want to be good stewards of the land. Water pollution, flooding, and soil loss aren’t just environmental issues, they’re economic and public health challenges that affect families across the state. District 33 is paying to clean more and more water we didn't soil.
I believe Iowa can support strong agriculture AND protect our water. We don’t have to choose between them.
What I'll Fight For
In the Iowa House, I will work to:
-
Protect clean drinking water through science-based standards and accountability
-
Support farmers who implement conservation practices, with technical assistance and fair incentives
-
Invest in soil health, flood mitigation, and watershed protection to reduce long-term costs and damage
-
Ensure polluters are held responsible, so families aren’t stuck paying for cleanup through cost-offloading
-
Strengthen partnerships with local governments, farmers, and conservation groups to deliver practical, workable solutions
Iowa’s farmers are problem-solvers, and many want to leave the land better than they found it. State policy should support that work, not give large companies a pass to make our water unsafe. We can protect our shared resources, and ensure clean water for future generations.
